In Greene County district court Brittney Mary Dawn Olson, 23, of Jefferson was sentenced to 180 days in jail after she changed her plea to child endangerment. The jail term was suspended. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Olson was sentenced to 90 days in jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program in lieu of the jail time. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. She was fined $1,250 with a $187.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if she obtains a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Abby Rose Paddock, 30, of Des Moines, possession of marijuana; and Chad Christopher Louk, 48, of Jefferson, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness. Trial dates were set for Nov. 5.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Abby Nichole Farrell, 21, of Carroll, operating while intoxicated; Merissa Shawnay Olson, 34, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia; Christopher James Lehrkamp, 38, of Scranton, driving while license revoked and operating while intoxicated- second offense; Martin Lee Palmer, 55, of Jamaica, operating while intoxicated; and Mark Moore, 60, of Dayton, operating while intoxicated.
